We had 2 early birds today. One was a ?/mf duccle is what it had on the shell from citygirlinthecountry and a ginormous grayish black baby from horsejody!!we have a phoenix & orpington from pearsjd that hatched but they are both black with feathered legs have to see what the roo was with them. We are up to 40 little quail from peepsnbunnies

citygirlinthecountry has a BLRW x cochin pipping. needmorechickens has one pipping too.

First to Hatch the Quail!!

There are 3 quail so far and more are pipping. Chicks are due to hatch Wed.

Candeling eggs

First egg is not fertile or was damaged in shipping from peepsnbunnies no growth at all only 2 silkies and one showgirl are showing veins.

Next two eggs are a fertile RIR from ginbart and a phoenix from pearsjd. We cant see in the quail but they are to hatch tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed for a good hatch!!

Well, We cracked the egg and showed the kids a fertile egg. They were pretty grossed out. Some of them said they have seen dots on the eggs they have bought at the store.

First & Second sets in the incubator

The kids were excited the eggs arrived at school today. We put all the eggs that came in Monday in the incubator.

And all of the chicken eggs that came in Wed are in the second incubator. All the quail will be going inthe third incubator later today.
